The Ayurvedic lens of the body, considers the digestive tract the ‘Master System of the body’. The majority of diseases are viewed as originating in the digestive tract. Food and lifestyle are seen as the major supports of a healthy life. This is not a one size fits all modality. Ayurveda is based in nature and nature comes in variations as do we.

Ayurvedic nutrition is based on the concept that each person has a different need of nutrients and a different capacity to absorb and assimilate those nutrients. Constitutional nutrition is based on the principle that the foods that work for one person may create disease in another.

Individuals are classified according to three body constitutions Vata, Pitta or Kapha. Our constitution affects the way in which we process foods and guides us as to which foods keep us balanced and which will cause us to go in the direction of imbalance.

Choosing to eat based on individual metabolic and health needs requires a shift in how we view ourselves and our relationships with food. Eating for optimal health and wellness becomes the goal.

Come and Join us in this 4 week series of workshops and dive deep into the Ayurvedic model of health and wellness. Learn how to become an Ayurvedic detective and create self awareness and take responsibility of your health.

Course Breakdown:

Week 1
-The redefinition of Health.
-How to create health for your body, breath, mind, emotions and spirit.
-Big Picture “The Ayurvedic System of Healing”
-Well functioning digestion -the key to health

Week 2
-Deeper into the Ayurvedic model of Health
-How the digestive tract functions
-Understanding my metabolic process
-The Art and Practice of eating

Week 3
-Food -the Ayurvedic perspective
-Whats the right food for my digestive capacity
-How many times a day should I eat?
-How much water should I consume
-How much fat
-Raw food v’s cooked food

Week 4
-“The whispering of your body”.
-Deciphering mild digestive symptoms and how to treat
-Ayurvedic spices for digestion.
