Ayurvedic Cooking for California Winter: Eating with the Cycles of Nature
Using ayurveda in your kitchen makes your tongue, body, and mind happy. Ayurvedic food isn’t strictly Indian, but an intelligent and mindful way of preparing meals that satiate, digest easily, make you feel calm, and balance the effects of nature.
Despite being considered “cold and flu season”, ayurveda explains that winter is in fact an opportunity to boost immunity. It’s the time to build up and nourish the body. We can do this through ayurvedic winter cooking, enabling nature to nurture us.
This workshop includes a full ayurvedic lunch (made by us!) Dishes will include a go-to kitchari, winter dahl, spiced vegetables, winter masala, vata lemon pickle, winter brews, and a nourishing dessert. This is simple, delicious, and nourishing food that both kitchen virgins and kitchen experts will enjoy.

I don't know anything about ayurveda, is that ok?
Yes! Previously knowledge of ayurveda is welcomed but absolutely not mandatory.
I don't know how to cook, can I still attend?
Most definitely. This is a great place to start.
What should I bring to the workshop?
A notebook and pen, an appetite, and an open mind; all other materials will be provided.
