AWS Glue Hands-On Workshop

Description:
This 1-day course provides hands-on skills in ingesting, analyzing, transforming and loading data using AWS Glue and getting the best performance when using it at scale.


Audience:
This class is intended for data engineers, analysts and data scientists responsible for: loading, extracting and transforming large data sets, implementing cloud-based big data solutions, deploying or migrating big data applications to the public cloud, implementing and maintaining large-scale data storage environments.

Prerequisites:
Before attending this course, participants should have:

  • General understanding of data formats such as CSV/Parquet and data models (relational, non-relation etc.)
  • Experience using a SQL-like query language to analyze data

Duration: 1 days (8 hours)

Delivery Method: Instructor-led, class based.

Objectives:

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose of and use cases for AWS Glue
  • Understand the architecture of Glue and how jobs are processed
  • Interact with Glue using the web user interface and SDK
  • Identify the purpose and structure of Glue schemas and data types
