About this Event

This Awesome Connect event will go ahead as scheduled, however it will be fully virtual - no face to face attendance will be offered for this date. This change is to ensure safety of our guests and we look forward to offering face to face attendance in the future.

Join us online on 19 January 2021 for Awesome Connect. Brought to you by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training and Awesome Women in Construction, the session will include:

  • Attraction and recruitment strategies specific to the construction industry - hear from construction industry peers about their experiences of workforce attraction and recruitment.
  • Government initiatives and support – current Government initiatives designed to support you with recruitment including how and where to find job ready people.

Chantelle Venter, Director of Pillar Consulting Group Australia

Chantelle began her career in customer service, talent acquisition and human resources and now is the Director Pillar Consulting - a recruitment and talent acquisition business. Chantelle will take us on a HR journey and touch on a 3 phase recruitment principle, What have you done? What can you change? and What to do in the future?

Sandee Harris, Australian Government, Department of Education, Skills and Employment. Employer Liaison Officer, Strategic Engagement |Employer Mobilisation

Sandee has been the leader of major recruitment drives across Australian, she brings to our meeting a wealth of knowledge and experience in Australian Government strategies, incentives and programs. Sandee will inform us on the Australian Apprenticeship and Traineeships system and how this can support your current and future recruitment strategies.

Amanda Sycz, Queensland Government, Department of Employment, Small Business and Training. Senior Field Officer.

Amanda brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training and will provide information on connecting and forming a youth engagement model with schools in your local areas - how to engage with schools and who to connect with; Skilling Queenslanders for work- recruiting from State Government programs, supporting long term unemployed and how to engage and match your recruitment needs.
