A.W.E. Monday Night Women's Open Mic! A Busboys and  Poetry Event   For two hours audiences can expect a diverse chorus of women's voices and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians whom are all thought leaders and women artists local to our scene, and beyond.

Amplifying Women Everywhere (A.W.E.) is an intimate artistic experience featuring women identified performers. Our audience, which is open to all, will enjoy performances by poets, novelists, musicians, dancers, activists, actresses, visual artists and more. The event beings with a spotlight feature of a local woman artist and continues with an open mic. Our featured artist will be interviewed and we will close out the evening with their performance.

FEATURING:  IVORY HAZE

Singer- Songwriter hailing from Washington, DC, Ivory Haze, has been sharing her sultry vocals for over a decade. She fell in love with the art of songwriting after her collegiate studies, having since developed her own unique style; mixing soulful tones on melodic waves. She’s also had the privilege of performing in the nation’s most prestigious venues, such as, Carnegie Hall; The White House; The Apollo; and made her international debut during the Baroness’ swoon ceremony at the Buckingham Palace in London. In January 2016, she released her debut single, “Statue of Liberty” written to empower those who struggle with self-doubt and the opinions of others. Her lyrics “I usually talk to myself when I’m feeling lonely/ You call it weird I don’t care, I know what’s good for me”, was her declaration to freedom; to shatter the chains of restriction and to fully commit to being herself. Statue of Liberty granted her features on “Artist Tell Their Stories” by Brenda Smoak and TSA---a artist blog space for creatives to share their passion.
