A.W.E. Monday Night Women's Open Mic! A Busboys and Poetry Event For two hours audiences can expect a diverse chorus of women's voices and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians whom are all thought leaders and women artists local to our scene, and beyond.
Amplifying Women Everywhere (A.W.E.) is an intimate artistic experience featuring women identified performers. Our audience, which is open to all, will enjoy performances by poets, novelists, musicians, dancers, activists, actresses, visual artists and more. The event beings with a spotlight feature of a local woman artist and continues with an open mic. Our featured artist will be interviewed and we will close out the evening with their performance.

Ayanna Gallant is a musician, poet and educator with a passion for creativity. She has been a music and poetry teaching artist for various non-profit groups related to self-esteem, leadership and activism in the New England and Washington, D.C. area. Publications include The 2008 Poets’ Guide to New Hampshire, and the chapbooks How to Say Hello and Screams, Moans and Lullabies (Sargent Press). Most recently, her poem "Pregnant Pause” was accepted by Wicked Banshee Press for an anthology of poems about survival. Ayanna has shared stages with Branford Marsalis, Clark Terry and former US Poet Laureate, Billy Collins.

Busboys and Poets is a community where racial and cultural connections are consciously uplifted...a place to take a deliberate pause and feed your mind, body and soul...a space for art, culture and politics to intentionally collide...we believe that by creating such a space we can inspire social change and begin to transform our community and the world.
