Subjects will be participating in an experiment that will test how often our they are able to detect change when watching short video clips from Vidcog. This detection will test the change blindness theory. The videos shown will consist of various minute changes that are focused on an individual and also changes that are in the background. This will allow us to explore which changes our subjects will notice more and give us an idea of where their attention was concentrated. Each of the three videos contains multiple changes that focus on a person or on the background and we will record which scenario our subject is more likely to report. We will divide the two groups into how observant they consider themselves to be on a scale of 1 to 5.
