KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Dr. Karriem S. Watson, DHS, MS, MPH is Community Health Scientists, Health Disparities Researcher, and Healthcare Administrator. He is the Associate Executive Director of the UI Health Mile Square Health Center, Research Assnt. Professor with the UIC School of Public Health and also serves as the Associate Director for Community Outreach and Engagement for the UI Cancer Center at UIC. His research focuses on advancing health equity by improving access to care and improving the uptake of evidence-based screening. His research is currently funded by an NCI R21, an engagement award through the Patient-Centered Outcome Research Institute (PCORI), Chicago Department of Public Health as well as industry funding. In addition to his research, Karriem is passionate about engaging those underrepresented in research both as participants as well as investigators.
