About the Event

Corey trained with Shodo Harada Roshi at Sogenji temple in Okayama, Japan, ordaining in 2005. He now leads an international community, The Energy Collective, in practices that support energetic and cellular transformation. This talk will focus on Tanden, feeling, creativity, and honesty in practice.

A quiet sitting practice to settle into the evening, followed by slow walking meditation.

7:30 p.m. — Dharma Talk with Sensei Corey Hess
Sensei Corey will offer teaching, reflection, and embodied inquiry grounded in both traditional practice and contemporary insight.

Who Is This For?

This event is open to all practitioners—beginners, longtime students, returning members, or those simply curious about Zen. No prior meditation experience is required. Come as you are; your presence is welcome.

What to Bring

• Comfortable clothing for sitting
• A cushion or bench if you have a preferred setup (zafus and chairs also available)
• A beginner’s mind
