“Awakening The Heart”
Three-Weekend Study Series Workshops
Take one or all three-weekend workshops as a series!
Each workshop is $70.00
We offer a $30 discount if you register for all three workshops together
These teachings are appropriate for healthcare professionals as well as the general public. Healthcare professionals will be able to incorporate the tools and practices offered in this program in ways beneficial to clients or patients.
4 Continuing Education credits will be provided for each weekend for psychologists, registered nurses, MFTs and LCSWs.
Learning to Live Mindfully: Formal Practice and Daily Life
January 27
In this weekend, we will explore the practice of mindfulness, which Jon Kabat-Zinn describes as, “being aware, on purpose, without judgment, in the present moment.” We will learn about the importance of posture and how to cultivate sensory awareness, attend to breath, and observe the passing by of thoughts, feelings, sounds and images without getting entangled in them, and how this leads to a sense of inner calm, clarity and ease. The practice of mindfulness helps us to focus our attention and be more sensitively present to others and our world. It also enables us to come in touch with the subtle state of resting in awareness. Mindfulness practice allows us to live in present moment with meaning and purpose, and with acceptance and caring intent for ourselves and others.
