Event Details

Enjoy an evening of poetry and spoken word with Harold Singletary & SC Poet Laureate Marjory Wentworth joined by Marcus Amaker, Brit Washburn and Matt Foley.  Featuring special musical accompaniment by Lee Barbour.

The event begins promptly at 6pm.

Most known for his abstract photography, John Duckworth's artistic practice has recently evolved into a new body of work utilizing film, installation, screen-printing and painting that integrates spiritual and cross-cultural elements.  'AWAKE' features both previous works of art and never-before-seen work in an exhibition that highlights Duckworth's art as well as his creative and meditation practices in a sequentially guided journey through the exhibition.  His series of Buddha paintings will be the core of the exhibition, showcased within a sanctuary-like setting in the central gallery space.  The City Gallery will be transformed with a non-traditional, multi-sensory presentation of Duckworth's art, providing a new and exciting immersive experience for visitors in the artist's most comprehensive exhibition yet.  AWAKE will be on view through December 21, 2014.
