Event description

Description

A collective consciousness of empathy & understanding is needed now more than ever. Engaging hearts & minds on today’s most pressing social issues is the first step towards a more equitable future.

AVANTGARTE unites a community of passionate doers around contemporary art, music & conversation in order to empower positive action. By creatively engaging with the world around us we become more aware of its inequities. By deepening our knowledge of the world’s complexities we become better equipped to tackle its challenges.

Join us on Thursday, February 28th at Atlanta Contemporary from 5 - 10pm for an evening of artistic immersion, critical discourse & cultural connectivity as we embrace our shared humanity & deep dive into the intricacies of the global refugee crisis.

Screening: Ai Weiwei, Human Flow
Music: KING NAPPA (Lava House)
Installation: Ashton Bird, Exterior 3: Wall
Community Consciousness: New American Pathways, a nonprofit that strives to promote safety & stability, self-sufficiency, success and service for individual refugees & refugee families in Georgia.
