Barnsbury village is the second in a series of Architect led village London walks which is part of Clerkenwell and Islington's Guides Association regular walks.
Barnsbury is an attractive Georgian suburb in the heart of Islington – If you have a passion for London Squares then Barnsbury has the most eclectic collection in London – With its odd mix of architectural styles and planning, the walk is a lesson on how not to or how to, design yourself into a corner – Scattered through this mix, is odd details such as obelisks, sphinxes and a hippodrome square, perfect for those chariot races – Barnsbury is also the historic home of Crufts dog show and New Labour.
Meet in or outside ticket hall of Angel Underground Station. Walk leader will be wearing tour guide badge. The walk will last 2 hours and will finish a few minute's walk from Caledonian Road and Barnsbury Underground Station. The booking name can be transferred to another person. Please arrive on time, but if you arrive late, then go up Liverpool Road and first stop will be short distance past Sainsburys.
In the unlikely event the walk needs to be cancelled tickets will be refunded.
At the end of the walk their will be on offer the opportunity to continue the walk to Barnsbury Square and finish at a local pub. This extension to the walk is at no extra cost and will add an extra 15 minutes approx. to the walk.
