Event Details

1SecureAudit and the Ritter Academy are pleased to announce a four-session educational briefing series that enables in-house legal counsel and their IT associates to gain important insights into how to automate the management of legal risk.

Each webinar format program focuses on a compelling area of legal risk for which emerging IT products and tools can become new weapons for managing the economic and legal adversities of adverse events.

What are the information rule-sets in your organization and how do they map to industry standards? This webinar will provide the insight you require to ask the right questions of your corporate risk management professionals.

Please register* for our first webinar event and each one thereafter. We will notify you in advance of each webinar with additional information and details on how to join us.

COMPLETED: Briefing #1: Managing the Legal Risks of Outside Counsel

Many corporate lawyers presume that their law firms know how to manage and protect digital information, including the sensitive records that may serve as evidence in lawsuits and government investigations.  But do law firms really do the right thing?  How can corporations better address the legal and business risks that exist when outside counsel is entrusted with valuable corporate records?

Those attending this webinar will walk away with a detailed RitterMap™ that presents a structure for conducting a dialogue with outside law firms on how the firms implement modern information security management practices, as well as a detailed checklist of issues to be addressed in the engagement letters under which a law firm is employed. Attendees will also receive a discount coupon for a future 1SecureAudit eDiscovery Survival Executive Briefing and Workshop.

COMPLETED: Briefing #2: Legal Risk and Analytics

Most in-house counsel do not know that existing information security management tools can be leveraged and re-purposed to monitor and detect potential exposure to legal risks.  By applying existing resources differently, counsel can obtain vital analytics that reveal where legal risks from “insider threats” may exist, and where corrective actions, properly applied, can control and minimize the adverse impact.

Those attending this webinar will walk away with a detailed RitterMap™ that illustrates the metrics that can be applied to a basic business process and a review of several digital forensic intelligence and analytic tools. Attendees will also receive a discount coupon for a future 1SecureAudit eDiscovery Survival Executive Briefing and Workshop.

COMPLETED: Briefing #3: Developing Effective Control of Employee Transitions

In every company, every day, employees are hired, promoted, terminated, or resigned.  Each employee transition event can create legal risks if the related systems, applications and electronic data accessible to an employee are not properly managed to protect the company’s interests.
This webinar examines how some of those risks have been evaluated in the courts, and uncovers some proven strategies for better managing those risks (and keeping the transition events from being the basis for litigation).

Those attending receive a RitterMap™ useful for evaluating existing employment termination practices. Attendees will also receive a discount coupon for a future 1SecureAudit eDiscovery Survival Executive Briefing and Workshop.

COMPLETED: Briefing #4: Achieving a Defensible Standard of Care

Dozens of technology products manage digital assets as potential evidence; but few products enable in-house counsel to truly partner with outside law firms in managing the legal services.  The results are discouraging: continued disputes over billings, activity descriptions, measurements of success, and process improvements.

Informed by the best practices in third party information security management, this webinar presents a business model through which in-house counsel can achieve a defensible standard of care in the employment and supervision of outside counsel.  The model shows how companies can leverage different information security service models to improve legal services, and strengthen the productivity of outside counsel.

Those attending will receive a RitterMap™ that presents a “best practice” for managing outside law firms by emphasizing transparent, documented, project management.
Attendees will also receive a discount coupon for a future 1SecureAudit eDiscovery Survival Executive Briefing and Workshop.
