Description


In this training we will cover special education services for students with autism. We will discuss how to create the right education plans to promote school success. Some of the topics we will cover are:

  • the academic needs of students with autism including learning characteristics and environmental factors affecting school progress

  • Texas and national education law requirements for educating students with autism that can help shape useful services

  • Behavioral concerns and planning including the basics of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) in school settings

Target Audience:
This training is for parents of children with disabilities in public schools as well as those community professionals wanting to know more about haow to advocate for effective autism services in school.
