Author Talk and Book Signing: Mel Allen’s Here in New England

By Shelburne Museum

Overview

Mel Allen will share from his book, Here in New England: Unforgettable Stories of People, Places, and Memories That Connect Us All.

In this audiovisual presentation, editor emeritus of Yankee magazine Mel Allen will offer highlights from his new book, Here in New England: Unforgettable Stories of People, Places, and Memories That Connect Us All. After the talk, Allen will inscribe personalized messages in copies of Here in New England. Flying Pig Bookstore will be onsite to sell copies of the Here in New England and will donate 10% of sale proceeds to support the Shelburne Food Shelf. Join us for an evening of deeply personal stories that paradoxically remind us, in Allen’s words, of the “common humanity that has always been part of the New England landscape.”

Free and open to the public.

Advance registration recommended.

Note about Winter Lights:

Please note that this event will take place during a “Drive-Around Night” of Winter Lights, when visitors enjoy the light display from the comfort of their cars. Talk attendees should park in the main visitor lot and enter the Museum through the Store. Attendance at the talk and book signing are free but those also wishing to experience the light show should purchase a separate ticket for an early time slot. (Please be advised that tickets for Winter Lights Drive-Around Nights sell out quickly. Those wishing to experience Winter Lights on foot should book for a different evening.)
