Event description

Description

The 1998 al-Qaeda bombings of American embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania were some of the deadliest foreign terror attacks in US history. These bombings brought international infamy to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, serving as a terrible foreshadowing of the 9/11 attacks on US soil.

Join us as we welcome Amb. Prudence Bushnell to an Author Series event. In Amb. Bushnell’s new book, Terrorism, Betrayal, and Resilience: My Story of the 1998 U.S. Embassy Bombings, she shares her personal experience during her posting as Ambassador of the United States to Kenya from 1996 to 1999.

This event will take place in the Hemisphere Suites of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Building.
