Former Top Chef: Just Desserts contestant and Chicago-based pastry chef Malika Ameen shows us how to make the classic meringue dessert Pavlova tinged with the earthy, citrusy essence of Earl Grey
We were so happy to have hosted the launch party for Sweet Sugar Sultry Spice, Malika Ameen’s debut book. Her first recipe compilation is filled with a diverse and accessible collection of spice-enhanced recipes that will transform your baking and awaken your senses. The recipes are arranged by spices and the feelings and sensations they evoke: Spicy and Warm; Floral and Aromatic; Bright and Fresh; Savory, Earthy and Nutty; and Complex and Mysterious.
For this event, Malika demonstrates the technique for making her sultry take on the classic meringue dessert, an Earl Grey Pavlova, just in time for the holidays!
Tickets to the event are $20. You can also pre-purchase a copy of Malika's book, which she can sign after the demo, at a 20 percent discount; books will also be available at the event at the regular price.
Refund/cancellation policy: A full refund will be provided for cancellations requests received from customers up to one week (seven days) before the event. No refund or store credit will be provided for cancellation requests received less than a week before the event.
