Event description

Description

Author Author is a monthly Published Writers event offered by the Coffee Phix Cafe to spotlight local Cleveland Authors. With this program on the last Sunday of each month we will spotlight one Author each hour from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm depending on the number of writers we feature.

11:00 am Feature Author Jameel Davis

Local Cleveland Author Jameel Davis was born and raised in poverty dominated communities in Cleveland, Ohio. Recognizing the importance of higher education he went on to earn a BA in Justice Studies from Kent State University in 2013. He is currently employed as a Correctional Officer at the Cuyahoga County Sheriff Department. Among his peers Jameel is seen as a man of change, and an encouraging leader. He has served as a panelist for Cleveland Clinic’s Youth Violence Discussion and have lead breakout sessions on Effective Communication Skills. He’s been nominated by The Ohio Kings for the Ohio Entertainment Awards Businessman of the Year, and was selected by Project Love, to co-facilitate the Debra Ann November Kickoff For Kindness event held at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center. Jameel is featured in the 10th, 11th and 12th Anniversary Editions of Who’s Who in Black Cleveland, the 10th edition being forwarded by Lebron James.

He penned his first novel, “How Success Became My Focus” in 2015 and is now promoting the release of his 2017 book “Cultivating Minds to Own Thyself”. We are excited to feature his latest book as part of Coffee Phix Café’s Author Author Series, Sunday, September 24th at 11:00 am.
