Event description

Description

Maryhill Integration Network and Gramnet present:

Author and Subject - People Seeking Asylum and Refuge Affecting Change

Exploring the different ways asylum seekers and refugees use their experiences and voices to positively affect change in their own lives and in the lives of others. We will also seek to discuss what integration means in modern society.

This presentation will also demonstrate how groups can build a greater sense of ownership over a project through the use of creative methods such as film-making and poster design. We will explore the use of community voices in research, dissecting the common relationship between author and subject and investigating the implications for this.

Presented by Pinar Aksu and Gianluca Palombo of Maryhill Integration Network. This event is part of the GRAMNet series during Refugee Week 2019.

There will be opportunities for further discussion, comments and questions after the presentation.
