Description

Authenticity Therapy: a New Frontier in Psychotherapy

with Yudit Maros, LMFT, CHT

This presentation will offer an introduction to the theory and practice of Authenticity Therapy (AT). Authenticity Therapy is a new integration, umbrella framework, assessment tool, and treatment protocol.

AT offers a four-step body centered protocol that shortens the duration of treatment by focusing it on the streamlined sequence of four practices that are both necessary and sufficient for self-love, or positive self-parenting. The four practices are A-B-C-D; they stand for Awareness, Breath (self-soothing), Communication, and Delivery in response to one’s body sensations.

This new framework and protocol is the result of seven years of systematic observation in Ms. Maros’ practice about what helps clients get better in therapy.

At the end of this event, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the philosophy and tenets underlying Authenticity Therapy.

2. Describe AT's assessment method along the lines of the four components of healthy self-parenting.

3. Identify the tools and skills entailed in treating clients with this modality.

Yudit Maros is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Certified Hypnotherapist in private practice in Ridgefield, CT. She is an international trainer of psychotherapists. Her book Apple of My I: The Four Practices of Self-Lovewas published in 2014 both in the US and in her native Hungary.
