Authentic Local Ethiopian Food Tour in Addis Ababa

This Food Tour of Addis Ababa takes you to Merkato - the biggest open air market in Africa. At Merkato, visit the Spice Market to get to know your spices to prepare the deliciously hot meals of Ethiopia. Visiting the Enset (False Banana Tree) market, vegtable, dairy products, and grain market sections of Merkato are part of the tour.
Next, head to a local family house to learn how to prepare Enjera - a typical Ethiopian pancake made out of tiny seeds of 'Teff' grain. Teff is a glutten free grain rich in carbohydrates, calcium, iron, etc
Then, attend a typical Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony. Coffee, originally found from the Kaffa area of Western Ethiopia, is not just a drink. It is rather hounored with the Coffee Ceremony which takes about an hour starting from washing the coffee beans, roasting, pounding, boiling, and driniking it in three rounds.
Lunch will be in one of the best tradional restaurants of Addis Ababa where you will taste delicious Ethiopian meals.
