Authentic Bay Area: Authentic Relating Games with Ahran Lee

Authentic Bay Area teaches a social technology called Authentic Relating, which supports humans to practice stretching our relational intelligence through developing greater social-emotional skills. Our communication practices are designed to teach individuals how to create deeper connection with themselves and others through relational mindfulness.

Authentic Relating Games are hard to explain and easier to experience. No group is the same. Our games help to teach and facilitate skills like empathy and curiosity, which help us to pivot from loneliness and division, to compassion and connection.

What we practice at Authentic Bay Area, gives people an excuse to connect about things that matter with structure and support to produce intimacy and growth through witnessing each other’s humanity.

Your Facilitator::

Ahran is a 1.5 Korean American multidisciplinary artist, improv actor, and event designer and facilitator based in Berkeley, California. As an active practitioner of authentic relating (AR), cultivating interconnectedness and kinship is central to her work as an artist, facilitator, and community organizer. Ahran loves designing community spaces where she can facilitate collective creativity and vulnerable sharing to alchemize pain into collective healing. Themes found in Ahran’s work range from AAPI women empowerment, raising mental health awareness, to exploring decolonization of oppressive systems using AR tools. Ahran wants to be the first generation in her lineage who boldly breaks away from oppressive patterns by creating and occupying space loudly and proudly. Ahran is an energy mover. Ahran is an ancestral pattern shifter.
