Description

The Australian Powerlifting Summit brings together some of the best Coaches and Natural Athletes that Australia has to offer. With a number of keynote presentations exploring the various components that go into creating a highly successful powerlifting Athlete or Coach.

This event is not to be missed, and is designed to bring our attendees the best information available. Our presenters will draw on the available research and evidence, along with their many years coaching or competing within the sport of Powerlifting.

Yes. This event is designed to be suited to anyone who has an interest in powerlifting in Australia. Whether you are an athlete, coach, or simply want to know more about powerlifting and training then we have you covered.


MEET OUR PRESENTERS:

Jacob Schepis (JPS Health & Fitness) - Jacob has been Coaching for over 10 years, working with a number of high level athletes in the sport. He has Coaches lifters nationally and internationally, and under his guidance his athletes have broken serveral national records, claimed titles and made significant improvements in their performance. He is also highly successful competitor himself, placing at Powerlifting Australia nationals on two occasions.

Lyndon Purcell (JPS Health & Fitness) - Lyndon Purcell has a background in exercises, and is currently completing his Masters in High Performance Sport*. He has been Coaching for a number of years, and has worked with closely with some of Australias best powerlifters. With a deep appreciation and understanding for physiology and sports science, Lyndon is able to apply this to his programming for powerlifting athletes to ensure that they maximise their training outcomes, namely strength and hypertrophy, both in and out of season.

Robert Wilks (World Powerlifting & Powerlifting Australia) - The Godfather of Powerlifting in Australia. Robert Wilks, has been involved in the sport for many decades, long before you likely knew the sport existed. Robert has done it all. He has personally competed at a high level, ran and coordinated hundreds of meets (nationally and Internationally), educated up and coming Coaches, Coached dozens of elite level athletes, and most notably, has been the primary catalyst behind the continuing growth and expanding reach of natural powerlifting in Australia, and the world at large.

John Paul Cauchi (The Strength Fortress) - Owner of The Strength Fortress and known by many as 5trong, JP Cauchi is an OG within the Australian powerlifting community. He has competed and coached at 4x World Championships and 4x Oceania Championships, setting countless domestic and international records and winning many titles. He’s coached a huge array of athletes from beginners to World Champions and has extensive history as a Powerlifting coach, coaching Team Australia at numerous international events. JP also hosts many Powerlifting Australia meets and has played a large role in bringing the sport to the main stream over the past number of years.

Jamie Smith (Melbourne Strength Culture) - Jamie is the Owner and Director of Coaching at Melbourne Strength Culture. Jamie began coaching as a Strength and Conditioning Coach helping guide many athletes at national and international levels across multiple individual and team sports. As a result, Jamie and his team at Strength Culture work closely with high level athletes across many sports, inclusive of powerlifting. Within powerlifting, The Strength Culture team have successfully coached powerlifting champions and world record holders at both the National and International levels. As a lifter, Jamie is worth pittance.

Matt Bartholomew (Team MB) - Matt is very passionate about powerlifting and has become completely immersed in his training and coaching within the sport. He competes at the national and international level in the U/94kg weight class, is the current Open National Champion. Matt also works closely with a number of driven and passionate lifters of all levels, coaching them to improve in all facets of the sport and their lifting. Matt has a great appreciation for education and development for all athletes, and is constantly learning and implementing new training styles, how to optimise lift technique, and the role of the mind in performance.

Joey Zinghini (Strong 24/7) - Joey has been in the industry for a long time. With a background in bodybuilding and physique competitions, he utilises this knowledge, experience and understanding of training and nutrition to the sport of powerlifting, and is able to achieve great results with not only himself but his clients. With a strong (24/7) passion for the sport of Powerlifting, Joey has competed and coached at the highest levels Nationally and Internationally, and has personally set records in his respective weight class.

Liz Craven - What can we say about Liz? She is undoubtedly one of Australia (and the Worlds) most accomplished athletes in the powerlifting arena. Liz has not only competed all around Australia, but has travelled the world to represent our country in the sport at some of the largest events on offer. She has won world championships, set countless national and world records, and racked up a number of National championships and various other titles in her time. Liz has achieved it all in the sport, and has a phenomenal understanding of how to optimise competition performance.
