Our first real AGM is on the 29th of October 2016. We are looking forward to having all the Australian directors in one spot together for the first time. Cycle is now becoming more and more accepted into mainstream, we have a large and continuous following of thousands of people and are extremely popular as a voice for the Australian bicycle rider. We have an obligation to get it right and we will do our best to ensure this happens.
This AGM will set the future for ACAi and guide us into a brave new world of active transport in Australia.
I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished so far, now looking to the future so bright we need to set the stage and the plans to get us there.
Our goal is to become the media mainstay and go to group, to ensure we connect stories to the people and get the people’s stories heard. We aim to promote cycling through the use of media - traditional, modern and social.
This AGM is to set up the plan and underlying infrastructure for the next 2 years. This will be reviewed quarterly to ensure we are on target. Reviews will be in the form of peer review and open discussion. Our plans for the future are more important to achieve than ever before. What we need to set from this meeting are the following aims.
We need to decide on a model for our future funding and how we will grow, it is not without a long process, but we need to have an idea where we will head as we grow and how we will staff our organisation.
We need to set the standard coming from what is expected from riders in Australia, we need to know what they want to see from us and what/when we can deliver.
Merchandise / Retail and Donations
What we are willing to sell, where the money goes and how we will manage that income. We need to set the expectations of how we are funded via merchandise and what the funding will pay for in the future.
It has been attempted and was too hard to manage, there are good ideas to discuss.
