Description

Join the Austin’s Fast-Track Cities Workgroups to work together towards Austin's goals of zero AIDS-related deaths, zero new HIV infections, and zero stigma to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.

Agenda:

9 am – 10:20 am – Prevention Workgroup
10:30 am – 11:50 pm – Testing and Rapid Linkage to Care Workgroup
12 pm – 1 pm – Break
1 pm – 2:20 pm – Retention, Re-engagement, and Viral Suppression Workgroup
2:30 pm – 3:50 pm – Ending Stigma Workgroup
All are welcome to attend one or more workgroups.




Background Information on the Austin Fast-Track Cities Initiative:

On June 20th, 2018, Austin Mayor Steve Adler and Travis County Judge Sara Eckhardt signed the Paris Declaration to end the AIDS epidemic and launched the Fast-Track Cities Initiative. Austin, Texas joined 96 other cities world-wide, and is the 20th US city to sign the declaration.


Specific Austin/Travis County Goals by 2020 are:

  • 90% of all people living with HIV will know their HIV status
  • 90% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained treatment
  • 90% of all people receiving treatment will have undetectable viral load
  • 50% reduction in new infections
  • Ending stigma


Four workgroups are being created to attain these goals:

  • Prevention
  • Testing an Rapid Linkage to Care
  • Retention, Re-engagement and Viral Suppression
  • Ending Stigma
