Description
Austin Black Business Week
We are super excited about Austin’s 1st Annual Black Business Week! Mayor Steve Adler has created a Proclamation to announce the second week in February as Black Business Week. African American businesses are historically underutilized at both the local and state levels. This event is one of many created to find ways to reveal, challenge and change the culture of black business through education, economics and resources.
The 2019 dates are Monday, February 11th thru Friday, February 15th. The dynamic 5-day event will bring the historically underutilized African American business owners together for economic advancements in the underfunded communities. The event will launch with Mayor Steve Adler, reading a proclamation of recognition of Austin’s Black Business Week at the Carver Museum Theatre at 10am. All presentations and panel discussions will be held at one of three locations: Carver Museum Theatre, BMW South Austin or the African American Youth Harvest Foundation.
We will continue throughout the week with Networking Mixers, Vendor Expos, a "Stop & Shop," miscellaneous activities and wrap up with a Black Business Gala. All businesss presentations and vendor expo held Monday, February 11th thru Wednesday, February 13th (10am-4pm) are FREE TO THE PUBLIC.
**PAID EVENTS will have the cost of admission. The door cost for paid events will be an ADDITIONAL $5.
