The inaugural Augusta Sharkfest Swim will be 1 mile downriver in the Savannah River from Hammond’s Ferry landing in North Augusta, South Carolina to downtown Augusta, Georgia. Buses will transport the swimmers from the finish area next to the Marriott Hotel to the start area. There will be wave starts in groups of 50 every 4 minutes. These waves will be self-seeded on race day based on ability with the fastest swimmers going first and the slowest going last to make for a safe swim. Post event festivities and awards presentation will take place after everyone has completed the swim at the riverfront amphitheater. The event is limited to 400 participants, so don’t wait to register! More details can be found online at sharkfestswim.com.
