Morning Minyan with Social Distancing

About this Event

We are excited to take a step forward in re-opening the synagogue by slowly returning to daily minyan. Though we have seen that joining minyan online can be a very meaningful and spiritual experience, there is a special sanctity and joy we feel when we are physically gathered in one place as a community.

For those for whom it is safe to return, we look forward to joining with you in joyous prayer in the Shifman Plaza of the Linden Family Courtyard. For your safety and the safety of others, we encourage those who are classified by the CDC as high risk due to vulnerabilities to stay home for now and continue to stream or zoom. We promise to continue to do all we can to make our minyan special for you as well.

To ensure that minyan is as safe an environment as possible during our re-opening, we ask that everyone adhere to the following requirements:

• Minyan will be limited to 15 individuals plus the clergy.

• Because of the size limitation, we ask that non-members continue to stream or zoom for now. God willing, if we continue expanding the re-opening, we will welcome you back to us at the right time.

• Registration will only be through EventBrite. Registrations will be accepted on a first come-first served basis. If the daily Minyan is full and you would like to attend for a Yahrzeit, please contact the synagogue office.

• If it is raining or rain is imminent, minyan will be cancelled. If it rains during minyan, minyan will be ended. Please check the weather report and your email before coming to synagogue.

• If you are not feeling well, have any Covid-19 symptoms (even if you think you still feel well), or have been in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19, please stay home and stream or zoom. Please be sure to read about and understand the risks associated with the Coronavirus.

• Masks are required at all times on synagogue property before, during and after Minyan.

• Upon arrival, please wait in line, standing 6 feet apart at the green tape markers, while waiting to be checked by the Health Gabbai.

• The Health Gabbai will check your temperature and ask you a series of health-related questions.

• If the Health Gabbai asks you to not enter due to health concerns, we ask that you respect that request. We look forward to welcoming you on another day.

• Once you pass the Health Gabbai, please take a seat at one of the pairs of chairs on the plaza. The second chair is for you to place your religious items or can be used by a family member who lives in your home. Chairs may not be moved. Please stay by your chair during the service.

• Please always maintain social distancing of a minimum of 6 feet from everyone.

• Please sing or read softly, whispering to yourself. Studies show that singing and reading out loud “super-spread” the virus.

• Please remember to bring your own prayer book, kippah, tallit and tefillin.

By registering to attend a daily minyan service, you understand the risks associated with the coronavirus and covid-19, and indicate you agree to abide by these requirements.
