Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

You love birds. You care about our state and our planet. You want to be part of concrete changes that slow the effects of climate change and leave a better world for the next generation. You want to do more than talk, or sign another petition. You want to ACT!

We are actively recruiting nature-lovers in your area to become Audubon Ambassadors-- volunteers who advocate for birds as they face a new set of threats and challenges, including a changing climate.

Please join us for a fun day of learning and discussion covering:

  • Climate change's impact on 314 species of birds and how they are being affected by a warming planet
  • Practical solutions to combat emissions in your own backyard
  • Engagement strategies to work with others and become an effective advocate for our environment

Audubon Great Lakes has created meaningful, easy actions to help you protect birds. We have created tools for you to have impactful conversations with your friends, families, and communities about how climate change is affecting birds. We also have the right tools, so you can see how your actions add up to real protection for birds facing the effects of climate change.

Lunch and break-time snacks will be provided. There will be plenty of time to make new friends who are eager to help our birds and communities to thrive.

As well, we would like to say a huge Thank You to Kensington Metropark for use of their Nature Center for this event

For questions or more information please email: bmerlos@audbuon.org

Please note: While this event is free you must have a recreation pass to enter the park. Day passes can be purchased for $10
