Treasure Valley Children's Theater and the Meridian Arts Commission is pleased to announce AUDITIONS for the Young Performers musical production, "Willy Wonka, Jr."

ANY YOUTH AGES 10-18 ARE INVITED TO REGISTER FOR THIS PERFORMANCE PROGRAM.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

All registered students will audition at the time they registerted for. Please note the time AND location during the registration process. Students will prepare the required song from the show to sing in small groups and as part of their audition. If a student wants to be considered for a role with a solo, they will be asked to sing the same song solo. Additional audition activities may include learning some choreography, theater games, team building work and cold readings from the script. The required audition material is available online. Click Here.

There are fun and challenging roles for 40 performers. Some roles are larger than others. ALL roles are important to the telling of the story.

About the show: The delicious adventures experienced by Charlie Bucket on his visit to Willy Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl's fantastical tale. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder in addition to a host of fun new songs, Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR. is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth.

Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR. follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory – or suffer the consequences.

About the program: Treasure Valley Children's Theater empowers youth through performing arts programs. 40 youth will be selected to participate in our Theater for Young Performers Series - a theater-arts/leadership training program and rehearsal process. Youth will be involved in many aspects of the show including fundraising, marketing, creating props, costumes and more!
