AUDITION!!!

Calling all 4th-9th grade, rhythmically gifted youth for a special African drumming opportunity!

We are seeking motivated young performers in 4th-9th grade to join a special African drumming group that will perform at the March 18, 31 & April 1 production of "The Lion King, Jr."

What's expected? Auditions are held on Friday, December 16, 4:30-5:30pm OR Friday, January 6, 4:30-5:30pm at Treasure Valley Children's Theater. There is no cost to audition, however, if you are selected, there is a $150 workshop fee. This fee includes all materials, t-shirt, and more than 15 hours of training and performance experience. Partial scholarships are available.

To audition, please register and let us know you're coming! You do not need to prepare anything - just show up and be ready to drum (no experience neccessary)! Dress in comfortable clothes that you can easily move in and wear shoes that stay on your feet (no flip flops, please).

If you are cast, the African drumming group meets weekly:

  • Fridays Jan. 13 - Mar. 17, 4:30-5:30pm at TVCT
  • Rehearsals on Mar. 17, 7pm; Mar. 25 TBA; Mar. 30 TBA
  • SHOWS: Mar. 18, 2pm & 7pm at Mountain View High School and Mar. 31, 2pm & 7pm and April 1, 2pm at the Nampa Civic Center. More information will be provided in January.
