Self-Taped Audition Technique and Acting Workshop - Online via Zoom

Work on stronger, more professional, and creative auditions and performances. Actors with the Full Participation option will prepare a mock self-taped audition piece for review and critique. During the Workshop, they will go over the critique and notes and then have the opportunity to apply adjustments and perform the group.

From Instructor and Casting Director, Alison McBryde – "I want to see actors do their best in each audition. As the self-taped audition has become a more common method of auditioning, I have noticed that actors are often making technical and creative decisions that can hurt them in the casting process. In casting sessions, I see talented actors who, because of weak choices, nervous habits, lack of direction, etc., do not get the callback or role. There is rarely time to work thoroughly with actors in auditions. These Workshops give me the opportunity to work with actors and help them to create their best auditions in the future."

Some Topics Covered in the Workshop:

• Creating successful self-taped auditions

• Having a successful audition from the moment you walk in the door or shoot your self-taped slate

• Mastering pre-reads, cold readings, call-backs, and screen tests

• Staying relaxed and confident, avoiding common mistakes and awkward situation

• Research and Preparation

• Creating and connecting to your character

• Taking direction and criticism, making adjustments• Creating and connecting to your character

• Q&A: Answers to your specific professional questions
