Event description

Description

Join Shin Yu Pai, Head of the Catlas Obscura Society Seattle, in a special evening with writer Zack Davisson, author of Kaibyo: The Supernatural Cats of Japan. Hear tales of the Bakeneko, a shape-shifting cat; Kasha, the corpse-eating demon; and the Iriomote Great Mountain Cat, which has a mythology akin to Bigfoot.

We'll gather together for a private hour at the Meowtropolitan, Seattle's first cat lounge. Grab a catpuccino and relax or play with 15 to 20 kitties from the Meowtropolitan's partner shelter, Regional Animal Services of King County, as you enjoy stories of magical cats in Japan.

Additional Details:

  • There are two ticket price options for this event: $40 ticket price includes a signed copy of Zack Davisson's Kaibyo: The Supernatural Cats of Japan (Chin Music Press) and entry fee to the cat room. $55 ticket price includes a signed copy of Zack Davisson's Kaibyo: The Supernatural Cats of Japan (Chin Music Press), an enamel Supernatural Cats fashion pin, and entry fee to the cat room.
  • Program starts promptly at 6:00 p.m.
  • Visitors must be 8 years of age or older.
  • Visitors under 13 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
  • Please keep in mind that cats are living creatures. As such, sometimes they may be tired and not want to bounce off the walls playing with you—be respectful of your kitty friends' needs!
