Event description

Description

The Atlanta Women's Chorus presents music that speaks to the joys of childhood as well as the responsibility that faces each of us as adults. The chorus will explore themes of self-reliance, resiliency, kindness, and compassion. Join us for a beautiful look at what it means to be part of the circle of life expressed through the music of the Atlanta Women's Chorus.

You’ll hear songs that many already know and love – and some new ones that may become new favorites to lift your spirit and your heart.

They include hits like The Supremes’ “You Can’t Hurry Love,” Elton John’s “Circle of Life” and Billy Joel’s “Lullabye.” And there are some new treasures, too, like the deeply spiritual “Psalm 23” by composer Z. Randall Stroope and the powerful Joan Szymko piece, “It Takes a Village.”

And through it all, you’ll feel something we all long for right now, and our children must know – hope.

“This concert creates a feeling of hope for a new generation and our country,” said Dr. Melissa Arasi, Atlanta Women’s Chorus artistic director. “We must not get bogged down with our political craziness, but also cannot close our eyes to the problems. Our positivity must prevail in our message to our children.”

Members of the Atlanta Women’s Chorus are from all walks of life — mothers, daughters, teachers, friends and mentors — who are part of a global community charged with teaching and inspiring the people of all ages through the power and uplifting essence of music.

Prices are $25 now through Sept. 21, $30 from Sept. 22-Oct. 20, and $35 at the door.
