Event Details

Attendance is Free!  Why sign up for a ticket? (Other than the fact that you'll need one to get in..)

Signing up for a ticket will help us to gauge how many people will be coming and will help us plan our exhibits and interactive displays so that we will have enough materials for everyone to take part and enjoy.

Also- we're trying to break the 10,000 attendee mark which would allow us to drip the MINI and have teh full support of Maker Faire. The 2014 Atlanta Maker Faire would be 3 times as awesome!

When you turn in your printed ticket at the AMMF, you'll get the commemorative  2013 Atlanta Mini Maker Faire wristband, you'll be entered into a random drawing with a chance at winning one of several door prizes made by our members or donated by our sponsors.

Prizes include:

  • free subscriptions to Make Magazine
  • books and kits from the Maker Shed
  • maker swag from local makers

Check our website closer to the event for a full list of prizes.  Prize winners will be notified by e-mail after the event and will be announced via our website.

What if it rains?
The show will go on! Bring rain gear to keep you dry when walking outdoors. Fortunately, we will have many indoor exhibits to keep the family dry.

What can I expect?
To have agreat time! You'll see everything from an infinity mirror to liquid hopscotch with a few battlebots, yarn bombers, homsteaders, rockets, welders, calligraphers, drummers, and 3D printers in between. It's impossible to describe. You've gotta see it for yourself!

ABOUT MAKER FAIRE:

Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.

The original Maker Faire event was held in San Mateo, CA and in 2013 celebrated its eighth annual show with some 900 makers and 120,000 people in attendance. World Maker Faire New York, the other flagship event, has grown in three years to 500+ makers and 55,000 attendees. Detroit, Kansas City, Newcastle (UK),Rome, and Tokyo are the home of “featured” 2013 Maker Faires (200+ makers), andcommunity-driven, independently organized Mini Maker Faires are now beingproduced around the United States and the world—including right here in Atlanta.

ABOUT MAKE MAGAZINE:

MAKE is the first magazine devoted entirely to Do-It-Yourself (DIY) technology projects. MAKE unites, inspires, informs, and entertains a growing community of resourceful people who undertake amazing projects in their backyards, basements, and garages. MAKE celebrates your right to tweak, hack, and bend any technology to your will.

MAKE is published quarterly by Maker Media, Inc., that also produces the wildly popular Make: Online (www.makezine.com), the Maker Shed online store for DIY kits, books, and more (www.makershed.com), and the world's biggest DIY festival, Maker Faire(www.makerfaire.com).

"The Maker movement has brought the pre-1970s world of basement workshops and amateur tinkering into the digital age." -- The New York Times
