SportsAbility Day is day of flat water paddling, whitewater kayaking pool sessions, and swimming for disabled veterans, first responders, and those with physical disabilities and their friends and families.
Come, join Athletes with Disabilities Network(ADN), North East Chapter at Cooper River Park for its SportsAbility Day, Saturday August 10th. This event is co-hosted by Camden County Board of Freeholders. Organizations include sports coalition members, Challenged Athletes Foundation-Operation Rebound, Team River Runner, Camden County Boathouse
SportsAbility Day mentors include 2016 Team USA National Paracanoer Brandon Holiday, an below knee amputee and the 2014-15 Men’s, K3 200m + 500m Paracanoe and 2014, 500m Masters National Sprint Kayak Champion. Jamie Stack, adaptive rowing instructors and Mentors will oversee clinics and share their expertise with participants.
Clinics are available for flatwater kayaking, recreational kayaking and Rowing at the Cooper River Park, The clinics are for participants with limb loss, limb difference, spinal cord injury, sight impaired, or blind. We have limited adaptive devices for that can assist individuals with issues like grip strength when registering online please complete the section for level of disability in advance to make sure we can outfit the kayaks properly.
