A game jam is an event where you form a team and create a game over the course of a weekend. We announce a theme at the start of the jam on Friday evening. Teams create a new original game based on that theme within the next 48 hours.

The 2019 Athens Game Jam will take place at Driftmier Engineering Center, and is partnered with UGA's IEEE chapter. We will provide food at the event so that you can concentrate on creating your game without leaving the venue.

WHEN? April 12 at 6:00PM (Theme announced at 6:30) to April 14 at 6:00PM

PARKING? Parking is free n,ear the building after 5PM on friday, and there is plenty of parking downtown

FOOD? We will provide snacks and some meals, in addition to the plentiful food downtown

SLEEP? We will have a 24-hour sleeping area

WHO? You, hopefully! We encourage participants to register ahead of time (using this page), but you do not have to register ahead of time to join.

The Athens Game Jam is a nonprofit event and we are happy to be able to make the event free, but we ask that you please consider making a donation. Donations will allow us provider more and higher quality food. The Athens Game Jam is also a competition. There will be prizes. Donations will also allow us to have better prizes. We will also happily accept cash donations at the event.
