2020 theme "Stand with Love, Not Hate"- "Let No Man Pull You Low Enough To Hate Him"-Martin Luther King"


United Group of Artists Music Association presents the Annual Athens MLK Day Parade and Music Fest on Monday, January 20, 2019, starting at 3pm.

Parade participants can begin to check-in at 1 pm-2:30 pm in front of Morton Theater 195 W Washington St, Athens, GA 30601.

Local and surrounding counties including Barrow, Jackson, Oconee, Madison and more are welcomed to participate in the parade: including schools, organizations, nonprofits, churches, dance teams, mobile vehicles, and various organizations.

What to expect:

3:00 Parade Begins (on the corner of Hull and Washington Street near Browns Barbershop)

Parade participants must walk in groups of 5 or more people and all participants are encouraged to make signage that represents the theme). Participants can also promote a cause or a positive message.
4:00 pm Block Party/Club Crawl.

Selected venues will host live performances and various family activities (locations to be announced).

Each year United Group of Artists gives back to the community by donating a percentage of the proceeds to the Athens Anti-Movement (AADM) who has been a vital force in promoting the philosophies and goals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the Athens-Clarke County community, especially advocating for equal justice, opportunity, and economic advancement for all persons.
