This is a special issue on the theme of “painful remembrance,” edited by Dr. Nils Roemer. Other featured authors include Drs. Richard R. Brettell, Dennis M. Kratz, Sarah da Rocha Valente, and Jane Saginaw.

There are also articles on Caravaggio’s Seven Acts of Mercy by David Carrier, on Jacob Hashimoto’s exhibition at the Crow Museum by Robert E. Gordon, Everything is Connected at the Metropolitan Museum of Art by Andreas Önnerfors, and on the art of Sicilian puppet theater by Jo Ann Cavallo. The issue also includes artwork by Annabel Daou, Susan Kae Grant, Stephen Lapthisophon, and Darryl Lauster.
