Event description

Description

Victoria’s colleagues, TV producer and director Geoff Posner and Musical Director David Firman cook up a very special Q&A. Come along, bag yourself some chips and explore how Victoria and her colleagues created such a witty and challenging musical number, then join in as we all learn the lyrics to the number! Featuring our own Happy choir with Choir Director Beth Allen and chips will be served!

David Firman Victoria Wood's arranger and Musical Director for her theatre show “Good Fun”, all three of Victoria’s BAFTA award-winning TV series’: Victoria Wood as Seen on TV, dinnerladies, Christmas with all the Trimmings, the special TV programme celebrating her personal BAFTA award, and Victoria Wood special on Parkinson (BBC TV).

For Victoria’s statue unveiling in Bury in May, David re-arranged Victoria’s Ballad of Barry and Freda (Let’s Do It) for the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band to perform.

Geoff Posner began working with Victoria in 1985, and went on to produce thirty-six of her programmes over 15 years including Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV and Acorn Antiquesxi, winning three BAFTAs and countless nominations along the way. Geoff has also directed and produced some of the UKs best-loved comedy shows: Not the Nine O’Clock News, The Young Ones, Little Britain and many many more.
