Astra’s 20th Anniversary: Astra Through the Looking Glass

Honor the Past. Celebrate the Now. Envision the Future.

The Nines Hotel, Portland, OR

Come and network with major corporations and women business owners from all around the country who come together to help Astra Women’s Business Alliance celebrate its 20th Anniversary of supporting women business owners and our next generation of women leaders.

Oregon is known for its uniqueness in developing new ideas and innovation and its commitment to the environment and recycling. Yes, it does rain in Portland but when you come in July, you will see sunny skies, friendly people, companies looking for new suppliers who have solutions for their companies.

The Portland area is known for Nike, Columbia Sportswear, Intel, craft beer, Silicon Forest, Pearl District for shopping and wine tasting in the Willamette Valley.l

What you might not know is the co-founders of Astra, twin sisters, Diane McClelland and Suzanne Lackman, graduates of David Douglas High School, have something in common with Title IX and Oregon Congresswoman Edith Green because of their founding of the Metro League Women’s Tennis in Portland 15 years before Title IX. Many do not realize that Congresswoman, Edith Green was the major force for Title IX which is responsible for helping women enter college and participate in college sports today.

Join us on July 24th for an evening boat ride and dinner on the Willamette Star which will cruise on the Willamette River through the middle of downtown Portland.
