Event description

Description

We are entering a phase in which many large institutions are experimenting with the tokenization of assets on the Ethereum blockchain. A concern from each of these institutions is the interoperability to the physical world and the transition from antiquated systems to the systems of the 21st century. These systems will support better supply chain and resource management, less transactional friction, and will create a larger value network for producers and consumers of goods and services.

In the context of the Ethereum blockchain, a token is a representational unit of an asset, providing the mapping of an account to an asset, and maintaining a record of ownership (e.g. quantity) within a contract that has its own storage accessible over a distributed ledger. Once issued, a token exists on the network forever. Over time, the value or utility of a token will vary. Tokens issued onto the network may not be censored, or removed.

Join us for an evening of talks about Asset Tokenization with members of the Accounting Blockchain Coalition.
