Event description

Description

The Medical Education Innovation Network brings to you this half day seminar/workshop that will explore the evolution of assessment methods in undergraduate medical curricula. It will provide an overview of the principles of assessment practice within the BMBS curriculum at Southampton, including best practice for common assessment types.

Sponsored by the Anatomical Society of Great Britain and Ireland, the afternoon will integrate a mini symposium on anatomy assessment in medical curricula, using selected examples that will be transferable and applicable to educators spanning the majority of basic science subjects within the pre-clinical years. This event is intended to be as inclusive as possible, bringing together a range of academics with a mutual interest in medical assessment approaches.

There will be a combination of internal (Dr Bruce McManus - Director of Undergraduate Assessments) and external invited speakers (Professor D. Ceri Davies, Imperial College London & Dr Ruth Joplin, Aston University) as well as an interactive workshop to enable skill development in producing high quality One Best Answer Questions.
