Description

Assessing the Underworlds Final Event.

We are pleased to announce a one day seminar and exhibition organised to showcase the progress of
the EPSRC-funded Assessing the Underworld (ATU) initiative and place it into context of streetworks fit for the 21st Century.

As part of an agenda including progress dissemination and external perspectives on ATUs challenges,we will update you on the further developments of the Decision Support System –this being the most important outcome of the project since it integrates all of the advances and translates them into practitioner guidance.

This aims to ensure that streetworks decision-making is informed by comprehensive, coherent and accurate information on the condition of the infrastructures, using a common assessment framework, and of the likely consequences of choosing different options.

An opportunity for open, plenary discussion will be provided after each of the presentations to enable practitioners’ perspectives to be introduced. More detailed progress updates will be provided by a series of posters describing each of the work streams, with the research teams being on hand to answer questions, while the lunch and refreshment breaks will afford opportunities to view the exhibition and for networking.

The final session aims to consider the future in relation to the current and past research. We would welcome your contributions to these debates so that the current and future research is enriched and the substantial government investment realises its greatest potential.
