Event description

Description

According to some estimates, there will be a national shortage of up to 200,000 physicians and 1 million nurses by 2020. There are numerous organizations around L.A. County educating, training, and employing our health care workforce. Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas (D-Los Angeles) and The Achievable Foundation (a community health center focusing on individuals with developmental disabilities) are hosting a legislative breakfast at West L.A. College on Friday, November 17th to discuss this topic.

The event, presented by L.A. Care, will bring together major stakeholders from higher education, workforce development agencies, elected official's offices, community health centers, hospitals and others. We will be looking at this issue by focusing on the different educational levels through which indiviudals can enter the health care workforce pipeline. Breakout groups will feature presenters from high school, community college, universitiy and graduate programs, as well as employers that work in conjunction with these different programs. Please feel free to forward this to others in your organization who may be interested in joining us!

WHEN REGISTERING, PLEASE ONLY REGISTER FOR THE BREAKOUT GROUP YOU'D LIKE TO ATTEND.
