About this Event

FUSING MULTIDISCIPLINARY ART PRACTICE with CONSCIOUS CONVERSATION to ADVANCE SOCIAL JUSTICE and EMPOWER POSITIVE CHANGE

Assembly of Change is an innovative art-making process inspired by "Theater of Change", developed at Columbia Law School by the Broadway Advocacy Coalition and the Center for Institutional and Social Change.

By bringing together high-level artists, law and policy experts, and community leaders impacted by specific policy issues, we will create original works that align insight with engagement and empower participants to take positive action.

HE[ART]LAND, in partnership with AVANTGARTE, is bringing this methodology to Atlanta during Black History Month to highlight the historical and contemporary landscape of voter suppression here in Georgia and beyond. Over the course of three days, we will feature speakers from local non-profits, dialogue with directly impacted individuals, and create original visual, auditory and performance pieces with Atlanta-based artists.
