9 AM to 12 PM: Business Process Management Amid Perceived Chaos with Mr. Brian Swayne, Executive Vice President, Juran Institute: The fundamental objective of Juran's Lean Six Sigma Services is to develop a methodology and strategy that can enable your organization to focus on process efficiency and variation reduction through the application of Lean Six Sigma.Lean Six Sigma seeks to drive out waste, improve the efficiency of processes, products and services through the use of tools like 6S, 8 Wastes, and value stream mapping. Combining the two techniques, Six Sigma and Lean, along with effective team skills has proven vastly more effective in solving the issues below:
- Process Defects: inaccurate or lack of process mapping, lack of process ownership (RACI), number of delays/bottlenecks or constraints, non-value added time, long cycle times, inadequate or lack of SOPs, undocumented chain of custody, rework, multiple storage areas, and movement of materials.
- Product defects: excessive costs, scrap, replacement of returned goods, warranty cost, complaints, excess inventory, loss of markets, and supplier and vendor specifications.
- Service defects: no actionable VOC, poor management of change, high conversion costs, identified and accountable roles, underutilization of capacity, percentage of on time in full (OTIF), loss of customers, performance management, and loss of sales.
