Event description

Description

Please join us for our Pre-Meeting Clinic discussion panel at 5:30pm faciliatated by David Behling:

Do Continuous Improvement and Quality fit together?

This talk will cover why Continuous Improvement and Quality are thought of and handled differently by the vast majority of organizations and whether this is correct. Since creation of ISO 9001, Quality has always stood alone as "the way" to make things better according to many organizations. Recent ISO 9001 revisions have begun to mix in continual improvement, in an attempt to bring the two of them into the same conversation. Yet, most organizations still see them and treat them as being completely different and mostly unrelated to each other. This talk will discuss what the relationship between Quality and Continuous Improvement really is or should be, whether there is a "best way", "a right way" and why.

Afterward, please join us for dinner and a discussion with J.R. McGee:

Measuring the Effectiveness of Your Quality System

The goal is to have an effective quality management system, systematic processes, and world-class business practices. Metrics are needed to assess the effectiveness of your quality system.

The subject of metrics can be one of the most basic topics in the world of business management. But few things you manage are as critical to your success! Metrics and the data that drive those metrics are the lifeblood of any organization that is intent on succeeding in today’s market. Your ability to interpret data and develop it into information to be processed into knowledge with sufficient accuracy to allow you to make effective decisions is the foundation upon which your organization achieves success.

What is the right number of metrics for an organization? Does management understand and listen to these metrics? Please join us for answers and insight into your Quality System Effectiveness.
