Please Join ASME and the ASME Foundation in Washington, DC on April 28th-29th for our Annual Public Policy Events and Dinner to Highlight ASME's Federal Government Fellowship Program!

ASME has sponsored 131 ASME Federal Government Fellows (Engineers!) who have served in the executive and legislative branches of government since 1973 where, during their one-year fellowship, they have provided engineering and technical expertise to policymakers. Please join us for our Dinner and Tour in the US Capitol on Tuesday, April 28th when we will be highlighting this very unique and invaluable program!

Location: Mansfield Room of the U.S. Capitol
Time: 5:00pm - 7:15pm in the US Capitol [Arrive at the US Capitol by 4:45pm]

US Capitol Tour from 7:15pm -9:15pm.


ASME Capitol Hill Day!

Wednesday, April 29, 2020:

17th Annual Engineering Public Policy Symposium (Invitation Only)
8:00am-1:00pm in Rooms 2043-2044-2045 Rayburn House Office Building, Capitol Hill

  • ASME is the lead organizer of an Annual Multi-Society Engineering Public Policy Symposium where we will be joined by 150 leaders of 45 engineering societies for briefings on the Administration's Fiscal Year 2021 Research and Development Budget Request. Officials from the Administration and Members of Congress will join us to discuss their policy priorities pertaining to engineering research and development, energy, advanced manufacturing, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, etc.

    The Symposium will be convened (8:00am-1:00pm) in Rooms 2043-2044-2045 of the Rayburn HOB on Capitol Hill. Funding for this event is provided by the United Engineering Foundation, so there is no charge to attend.

ASME Congressional Visits
Capitol Hill: U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate

  • Congressional Visits (1:00pm-5:00pm). All ASME Members and Guests are welcome to participate in Congressional Visits with their Members of Congress. ASME Government Relations will work closely with you to schedule your meetings, provide background information pertaining to ASME's public policy priorities. Those requesting to go on Congressional Visits will have mandatory training. Watch training webinars at
